How to determine your skin type…? Is it unique..? Yes, Our skin is unique, and therefore cosmetics for all does not suit at all. The skin should receive only what skin really needs, without being overloaded with heavy and inadequate products of modern cosmetology. Human skin is so diverse, so changeable, that satisfying its needs with just one thing will not work. Let’s try to find out what exactly your skin is asking for.
The first step towards understanding is determining your skin type. In total there are 4 varieties: normal, dry, oily, and mixed (combined). It would seem that it is simpler: if the skin glistens, it means oily, and if it “shrinks”, then it is dry. An-no. It is not that simple. The fact is that the type of skin can vary depending on what time of the year it is on the street, how exactly you are cleaning it and even what your mood is now … In view of the complexity of this process, the best solution would be to turn for help to a professional beautician. Only he is most likely to be able to see what your skin actually is. One trip to this specialist in the future will save you from many problems: both financial (agree, throwing money out on not the cheapest skincare products is really fun), and aesthetic (the sooner you understand what your skin needs, the better she will feel and the better she will look).
If a trip to the cosmetologist for some reason is not yet possible, we will postpone it for the very near future, but for now, we will try to cope on our own. To do this, we offer you a test that can really help.
Before proceeding to determine what exactly nature has rewarded us with, it is necessary to wash off all makeup from our faces. After that, let your skin rest for about three hours. After that, we find in the house a room with natural light and proceed.
Normal skin type
Normal skin is quite rare. If young and healthy people still sometimes see it, then for those who are a bit over …, the likelihood of such a meeting is extremely low. But, nevertheless, let’s read what cosmetologists say about this skin. What the hell is not joking, maybe this is exactly your case. So, normal skin has a uniform color, matte, without excess shine. Such skin from the very first glance produces a feeling of completely healthy, smooth, supple and fresh. She has no defects, she does not suffer from acne, acne or from enlarged pores … It is easiest to care for normal skin. She calmly tolerates washing with soap, is resistant to various cosmetics. In general, a dream, not a skin.
Dry skin type
If we talk about its appearance, then dry skin is thin, delicate, smooth, matte. At a young age, there are practically no serious problems with her, she looks good, almost never suffers from acne. However, all these obvious pluses disappear over time. Dry skin ages much faster than all its other types. Wrinkles appear early on it, especially in the area around the eyes. With improper care, the skin condition can be significantly worsened. If your skin belongs to this particular type, then relieve it of the torture of washing with soap and water, try to minimize contact with an unfavorable environment, and pay maximum attention to the choice of cosmetics suitable for you.
Oily skin type
Externally, oily skin does not look very good. It is coarse, it has an enlarged pore, often it shows greasy shine, and also has the so-called comedones, popularly known as eels. Nevertheless, caring for her is much easier than for dry skin. Oily skin retains youth longer, tolerates washing well with water, and can give a confident rebuff to adverse environmental conditions.
Combination skin type
Combination skin combines the features of normal (dry) and oily skin. As a rule, it is oily in the forehead, nose, and chin, on the rest of the face it is normal in type (dry).
And now, back to our test.
After the skin rested for 3-4 hours, we take a cosmetic towel (tissue paper) in our hands and apply it tightly to our face.
If you have normal skin, then most likely there will be no greasy prints on the paper. In extreme cases, there will be only slight marks in the nose or forehead.
If you have dry skin, then there will be no prints.
If you have oily skin, then on a napkin or paper there will remain abundant grease spots, not only in the area of the problematic forehead, nose, and cheeks but also in other areas of the face.
Combination skin will leave marks only in the forehead, nose, and chin.
Having decided what nature has bestowed upon you (and there are no bad gifts), you can safely go to the nearest cosmetic store and start reading labels. Agree, not the hardest thing in life.
