3 DIY face masks to get rid of unnecessary grease
3 DIY face masks to get rid of unnecessary grease. Acne is one of the most common skin problems and – more or less – has plagued us all at times.
If you are experiencing a severe acne condition, it is necessary to consult your dermatologist, who will recommend specialized products or even medication. But if your acne condition is mild, you can try the following homemade recipes that will remove unnecessary oil from your skin and improve its appearance.
Face mask with pomegranate and tomato
What you will need:
- 1/2 tomato
- 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds
Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, which fight acne and rashes while shrinking pores. The antiseptic effect of the tomato will restrict sebum secretion and its antibacterial action will prevent the contamination of the dilated pores. Pomegranate, also rich in antioxidants, regulates the production of sebum, while it’s iron content aids in the absorption of oxygen and gives a fresh look to the skin
What to do:
Melt the ingredients in the blender until you have a homogeneous paste. Apply the mask on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off the mask and wipe your face with a clean towel. When wiping, you should do tampon movements rather than rubbing your skin, as this may put you at risk of irritation.
Face mask with turmeric, lemon, and yogurt
Turmeric, which has long been used to treat various health issues, is beneficial for the skin, especially oily. The antibacterial properties of turmeric will help you get rid of harmful bacteria in your pores, which can cause acne. Besides, its antioxidants not only rejuvenate the skin but also delay the aging process. Lemon juice is an active ingredient for oily skin as it is rich in Vitamin C and citric acid that exfoliates the skin. It also absorbs grease and kills bacteria, leaving the skin shiny and clean. The valuable probiotics contained in yogurt, with their antibacterial and antifungal action, fight acne.
Note: Do a test on your hand before using this mask on your face. Since lemon juice is acidic, it can irritate your skin.
What you will need:
- ½ tablespoon of turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt
What to do:
Mix turmeric powder, lemon juice, and yogurt. Apply the mixture and leave it on your face for 5-10 ′. Then rinse. You can apply this mask on your face and neck up to 3 times a week.
Mask with green tea and honey
What you will need:
- 1 sachet of green tea
- 1 tablespoon of organic honey
- Hot water
Green tea is rich in catechins that help kill acne-causing bacteria. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce the redness and inflammation often caused by acne. Honey has antibacterial properties and moisturizes the skin, leaving it radiant.
What to do:
Dip a sachet of green tea in warm, boiling water for about 3 minutes. Remove the sachet and allow it to cool. Once cool, cut the sachet and extract the leaves. Add the honey to the leaves. Wash your face and dry with a towel. Apply the mixture of honey and green tea on your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and dry with a towel.
